Sisterhood Photographer & New Custom Cards

In the new position of Sisterhood Photographer, Linda Blocker, has already produced great results.

We now have special custom cards available: Mazel Tov, Sympathy and Get Well. The cards have a picture from our Temple on the front cover and inside you can designate the recipient as being honored by a donation to Temple Beth El's Sisterhood.

This fund will be used to purchase a special Temple gift; i.e. Podium.

All this for only a $5.00 donation!

Why not purchase a few of each to have on hand when you need them? It would be so convenient!

They are available at the Temple Gift Shop, all Sisterhood events or by calling me @ 432-6278.

Temple Beth El Sisterhood

It was with mixed emotions that a group of eight Jewish women from Oneonta, met for the first time as members of the
Oneonta Jewish Sisterhood, on October 6, 1935 at the home of Mrs. Ruth Unger.
The following officers were elected:

Mrs. Jacob Epstein, President
Mrs. Chas Under, Secretary
Mrs. Meyer Unger, Treasurer

Other members included Mrs. Benjamin Krohn (later our second president), Mrs. Sam Rosenberg, Mrs. C. Friedman, Mrs. Jacob Schatsky, and Mrs. Carl Spear. These women met at the American Legion Hall.

Sisterhood originally established and supported Temple Beth El’s Religious School, and the Temple’s lending Library.

Over the years we have contributed funds needed for the Temple’s various projects. Please consider joining Sisterhood. We are a fun group. Come to our monthly meetings for great food and great company. You do not have to be a member to join us.

Sisterhood has a gift shop which stocks Judaic items for your entire gift giving needs.
