Temple Beth El is a full-service Conservative
congregation affiliated with United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism,
serving the needs of the Jewish community in Oneonta, NY.
As a community of Conservative Jews, we are
dedicated to the continuity of Jewish life and the shared expression of our
sacred traditions, values and our way of life. Through prayer, learning,
commitment to each other and service to all,
we encourage a life-long connection
to God,
Torah and Israel.
Our Synagogue is an active Jewish community
whose members’ lives reflect a sense of belonging and commitment to each other,
to our local communities, Israel, and the larger Jewish world. Each member, at
every age and at all levels of knowledge and practice,
is supported,
challenged, and encouraged to seek an increased understanding of themselves and
Judaism.
Our Rabbi, Temple President, Board of Directors, Cantorial Soloist,
Educators, Lay Leadership,
and infrastructure support our congregation’s goals
and objectives.
Temple Beth El is located approximately
halfway between Albany and Binghamton in beautiful Oneonta,
its membership of
100-plus families is drawn from several surrounding counties.
