As President of Temple Beth El I have been getting emails from many people and organizations that I never had contact with before. TBE is well connected in the community of Oneonta. We receive messages from the Interfaith community of churches and other faiths, from the NAACP, and from the Norwich Jewish Community. There are also emails from farther away, for example, the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, of which we are a member. There are messages from Israel with good news about their innovations in technology and medicine among other things. (Check out this site for positive news from Israel. The country is proud of its’ innovations. www.verygoodnewsisrael.blogspot.com )
What strikes me about all this connectivity, is that we are really part of a greater whole. Our actions and participation in Oneonta can have an impact much broader than our small community would suggest. We enjoy our time together like at the Chanukah Menorah lighting and the Pot-Luck Dinner. In February and March there are lots of events and gatherings here. Find something you enjoy and join us. Let’s see what we can do together.
