Everyone is invited to the next Women’s Club meeting on Sunday, February 10 at 1:00-2:00. The Women’s Club has arranged this meeting as a response to the terrible, tragic events that happened in Pittsburgh several months ago. What do you do when any kind of attack is happening to others near you for any reason?
Sargent Eric Berger from the Oneonta Police Department will present a one-hour program on how to stay safe in a variety of events where an active attack is happening against others. One goal of the Oneonta Police Department is to bring this training to all groups in the Oneonta area. They want to have citizens mentally and physically prepared if they find themselves involved in or near an attack. The Oneonta Police Department wants to have everyone survive and help save the lives of others around them. This is not limited to shootings but focuses on any attack against citizens where someone is trying to hurt others. This material can apply to shootings, natural disasters, accidents, and fires.
The members of the Women’s Club think this is essential information for all citizens and members of our Temple Beth El community. The TBE Board has approved this event as it is consistent with the public safety recommendations coming from national Jewish organizations including United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism in response to the rise in anti-Semitic acts across the United States. This program may be inappropriate for children.
Please plan to attend on Sunday, February 10, 2019 from 1:00-2:00 p.m.
